India is going through its most revolutionary phase of Digital Transformation that will bring many reformative and transformative changes in the way we live, interact, engage with our Government and utilize the services available to us as citizens of this great country. At the base of this revolution reside scientific and engineering imperatives, challenges, solutions and breakthroughs.
I would like to sincerely thank Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) for entrusting me with the additional charge of Director General of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). I am really happy and excited at this challenging opportunity. It gives me immense pleasure and pride to lead this great and prestigious institution into the future. I was part of many ‘firsts’ and laurels that C-DAC got to its credit and my journey has never been alone. I have been guided by some of the brightest mentors and worked with committed teams at C-DAC.
C-DAC was raised as, and continues to be, the premier scientific and engineering institution of MeitY at which the nation is looking upon to take it through the transformation. Major milestone projects such as National Supercomputing Mission, Microprocessor Development Programme, Mission for Developing Digitally Inclusive and Smart Community (DISC) with focus on Agriculture, Health and Education, e-Kranti, Language Technology Applications such as Machine Translation, Cross–Lingual Information Access, Speech Technology, Professional Electronics technologies like Microcontroller and DSP, Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics applications based on Biometrics, malware analysis and major Bio-Informatics applications including Cancer Research using Artificial Intelligence are a few to mention.
Carving high end technology solutions out of niche knowledge base and strategic collaboration with multiple National and International organizations and deployment partners is the key to success at this point of time. We resolve to continue to be the pioneers in state-of-the-art R&D areas by tapping C-DAC competencies through multi-level collaborations. We look forward to cultivating business focus and revenue models, while retaining the Research and Development edge, as well as building HR models for encouraging effective innovation.
We need to continue to put in our best to take our Nation to newer heights. Our collective vision should be to enhance and synergize technical efficacies at C-DAC for the betterment and ease of life of citizens and position India at a premium space on the global map.
