BHAGAVADGITA READER:

The Bhagavadgita Reader is a software designed to retrieve information and unearth the deep meaning from the most revered Indian scriptures, the Bhagavad-Gita.

A self-installing package, the Bhagavadgita Reader offers three reading options: Meditation on Gita, Gitartha Sangraha, and Gita verses with English translation. The distinguishing feature of the product is that the user can read and learn more about Bhagavad-Gita in a script of his choice.

Salient Features:

  • The Gita Search is indexed on a word as well as a sloka. The Sloka Index can be used to search a sloka, even with the initial few characters of a verse. The Word Index can be used to get the list of slokas beginning with the character entered in the search.
  • Retrieving can also be done by the chapter number, verse number, chapter name and name of the speaker (the four speakers being Sri Krishna, Arjuna, Sanjaya, and Dratha Rastra).
  • The Gita Reader can also be used to read and recite Gita. Enter into the browse option and peruse Gita, comprehend the Gitartha Sangraha (conceptual meaning of the entire epic in just 32 verses with English translation) and the Meditation on Gita.
  • Another feature of the Gita Reader is the Online Keyboard. Incase you don't know how to type using the INSCRIPT keyboard, open the online keyboard and enter the required string. The current version of the Bhagavadgita Reader incorporates online keyboard options for Devanagari, Roman diatric, Kannada and Tamil.
  • A script change option allows the user to view all text in the script of his choice.
  • Gita verses can be read using three options: Sloka, English translation of the Chapter, or, Sloka with English translation. Once the user selects the script of his choice, the last option (Sloka with English translation), the sloka will appear in the script of his choice along with its translation in English.
  • By selecting the Ramanuja bhashya in slokas, a commentary - Tatparya Chandrika can also be read.

For all the above options, user can explore additional information viz. Speaker, Gitartha Sangraha, English translation, Bhashya (traditional commentary/interpretation of sloka) based on three different philosophical systems and further commentaries in addition to the verse.

Please Note: Bhagavadgita Reader is currently available only for Windows 9x/NT/2000 users.
