Background :
The advances in computer architectures in the form of multi-cores, HPC clusters, and computational grids have made parallel and distributed computing as the mainstream of computing. In order to exploit these advances, researchers and developers must be aware of techniques to design and develop, parallel and distributed software systems for their scientific and engineering applications.
The workshop will elaborate on the use of parallel systems in scientific and engineering applications. An Indo-Russian joint development of mathematical modeling and visualization software in computational fluid dynamics, seismic data processing, and weather forecasting has already been undertaken at the RICCR center, Moscow, Russia.
The workshop will feature invited talks by the Russian and Indian scientists covering broad topics in computational aero-hydrodynamics, seismic data processing, computational fluid dynamics, bioinformatics, mathematical modeling of the atmospheric and oceanic processes, and the development of parallel algorithms for numerical solution to problems of continuum mechanics, amongst others.
Speakers :
Invited speakers from Russia and India will be presenting their recent research work and their experiences with parallel computing platforms.
Who may attend ?
Research students and faculty members from the research/academic institutions, and practitioners from Industry.
Registration :
The workshop is free for teachers and researchers from various Government aided research/academic institutions.
For participants from industry, fee per participant would be Rs. 2000/-.
